Takis Vidalis completed his basic legal studies at the University of Athens. In 1995, he received his Ph.D. in law. In 2001 he was elected a senior researcher and legal advisor of the Hellenic National Bioethics Commission (now, Commission for Bioethics and Technoethics).

He is the author (or co-author) of 7 books and more than 50 academic papers in topics related to ethics and law of advanced technologies, constitutional law, philosophy of law, and sociology of law.

Currently, he teaches “Biolaw and Bioethics,” at the International Hellenic University, the Democritus University of Thrace, and the Open University of Cyprus, and “Artificial Intelligence: Ethics and Law”, at the Law School of the University of Athens.

He is the president of the Research Ethics Committee of the National Centre for Scientific Research “Democritos” (the largest multidisciplinary research centre of Greece), and a member of the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies (European Commission).
