Zoi is a Specialist in Pediatrics, Faculty Member at the European University in Nicosia-Cyprus, specialized in Hospital Epidemiology, Infection Control, Antimicrobial Stewardship and Patient safety at the Johns Hopkins Hospital USA (HEIC Department, JHH). She holds two MSc, one in Medical Research Methodology and Statistics (AUTH, GR), and one in Nanosciences at the Department of Physics (AUTH, GR). She holds a PhD in infectious diseases in immunocompromised children with leukemia (AUTH, GR) and has received the European Infectious Diseases Society Fellowship Award in 2017.

She is Member of several European Committees and Expert Groups (ECIL8, ESPID, IPFN, ESCMID, C4C). She is reviewer and deputy editor in peer review international journals and has more than 60 publications. Last year she became Member of the European Confederation of Medical Mycology (ECMM) and Member of the Steering Board of the European Hematology Association. She has been working as Senior Clinical Assessor at the National Greek Notified Body for Quality in Health (EKAPTY) and as Scientific Member of the Health Technology Committee (HTA) at the Ministry of Heath, Greece. She is currently member of the COVID-19 Scientific Committee at the Ministry of Health in Cyprus and Scientific Advisor of the Minister of Health. Zoi is currently representing Cyprus at the EU scientific advice platform on COVID-19 organized by the European Commission. Zoi is participating in several EU COVID-19 projects, and she is the National Coordinator and Work Package Lead for the EU Horizon program VACCELERATE, the pan European Vaccine Trial Network aiming to provide a single-entry point for clinical research in Europe.
